Technisyst Launches MobiMap at CeBIT Sydney

SYDNEY, NSW, 6/5/2005

Brisbane based mobile communications specialist Technisyst is launching a new web based wireless mapping service called MobiMap to be showcased at this years CEBIT.

The unique application enables fleet operating centres to keep informed about the location and health of all their vehicles - including actual routes and stops, map positions, and proximity to customer locations - using Technisysts exclusive geofencing technology.

The countrys leading coach company, Greyhound Australia, has already signed up for MobiMap, which is offered to clients on a monthly fee basis. Technisyst will install 150 Mini Track devices into the entire fleet during the initial phase of the contract and will expand the service to include advanced telemetric in 2006.

Technisyst managing director Brian Webb said the depth and breadth of Technisysts wireless expertise has enabled MobiMap to deliver the industrys most innovative mapping service, which combines leading GPS, wireless and internet technologies. At the touch of a button, fleet managers can receive real time vehicle status updates, event logs and numerous system reports.

MobiMap provides the tools needed to measure overall performance, reduce costs and maximise return on investment by offering complete visibility into a mobile workforce. It is a proven, robust, location-enhanced solution, Mr Webb said.

The system enables users to wirelessly check the health of each on road unit, such as, oil pressure, water levels, doors open or closed, or if the engine is overheating. MobiMap can even alert the nearest depot to prepare for the arrival of a bus or truck, or the appropriate emergency services agency via the control centre in case of an accident or stolen vehicle.
