Technisyst Announces Digital Video Product Launch at APCO Australiasia

GOLD COAST CONVENTION CENTRE, FEB 13-15, 2006 , 16/1/2006

Leading international public safety thinkers, speakers and organisations will gather on the Gold Coast in February to discuss how technology can help the world deal with terrorism, natural disasters and even Bird Flu and to try out the newest technology from around the globe.

The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Conference and Exhibition will be held at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast on the 13 -15 February 2006 and will feature keynote addresses from Europe and North America.

Technisyst, a Gold sponsor of the event, will be unveiling new digital video solutions designed to combat terrorism in partnership with US company Data911 and Appian Technology, the global leader in Automatic Number/License Plate Recognition (ANPR/ALPR) systems.

Similar solutions are already in place at Heathrow Airport in London and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and use smart video technology to detect and flag up irregularities such as suspect vehicles.

They are particularly useful in preventing the use of Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED) more commonly known as car bombs - as a means of attack.

Technisyst will also be showcasing its new Multi Network Gateway Technology which is currently being implemented in outback Australia to give rural emergency services providers the same level of operability as those in metropolitan areas.

The technology, which has been developed by Technisyst, provides wireless coverage and can integrate an unlimited number of communications networks, such as CDMA, private networks and satellite, to ensure the emergency services or any kind of organisation with a fleet operating over a wide area can also keep in touch.

Technisyst Executive Director, Brian Webb said, the technology on show at APCO will amaze Australia's first responders.

This is the most sophisticated technology in the world and has been designed to cope with the issues every country is now facing such as terrorism or natural disasters, Mr Webb said. We already have incredibly sophisticated networks in this country that we can use to implement these solutions to make our airports and first responders safer.

Technisyst is a Gold sponsor of the APCO conference and exhibition and CEO Bill Delaney will be speaking on the final day.
